On August 14, 2008, the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Memphis, the 2008 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held their final round of competition. Ten Elvis tribute artists advanced from the semifinals on August 13 to compete, where Brandon Bennett, from Ponchatoula, Louisiana, was named the 2008 Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist.
